Terms of Service

1. What FinChatly is
FinChatly lets you connect a bank account (read-only, via Plaid) and ask natural-language questions about your own transactions through an AI assistant. FinChatly does not initiate transfers, payments, or any changes to your bank accounts, and cannot access funds.
2. Not financial advice
FinChatly's assistant answers are generated by an AI model based on your own transaction data. They are informational only and not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Verify anything important against your bank's own records before relying on it.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use FinChatly.
4. Your account
- You sign in via Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure.
- You can delete your FinChatly account and all associated data at any time from within the app.
5. Subscription and billing
- FinChatly is offered as an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. Price and billing cycle (monthly or annual) are shown at the time of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, through your Apple ID account settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device).
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and at the start of each new billing period.
- All purchases and any refund requests are handled entirely by Apple, not by FinChatly directly โ see Apple's own reportaproblem.apple.com process. We do not have the ability to issue refunds ourselves.
- If you cancel your subscription, you keep full access to FinChatly for the remainder of the period you already paid for. Cancellation stops future renewals โ it does not refund or shorten the period already paid for.
- We do not offer prorated or partial refunds for unused time in a billing period, whether you cancel voluntarily or your access is otherwise interrupted.
6. Bank connections
- Connecting a bank account requires your explicit consent through Plaid Link and your bank's own authentication.
- Your use of Plaid to connect your bank account is also governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy and Plaid's own terms.
- You can disconnect your bank account at any time, either in-app or through Plaid/your bank directly.
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of data provided to us by Plaid or your bank.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use FinChatly to:
- access accounts you're not authorized to access,
- attempt to disrupt or abuse the service (including excessive automated requests), or
- violate any applicable law.
8. Disclaimers
FinChatly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the assistant's responses will be accurate, complete, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinChatly and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
10. Changes to the service or these terms
We may update FinChatly or these terms over time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when these terms change, and notify you with an in-app notice when a change is material.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
